99 Durango General Question
Good day to all. I am thinking about trading for a 99 Durango with 219K miles. I would like your honest opinion about these SUVs. I am a GM person so I know nothing about them. Please tell me about them. Is this a good trade? Should I be concerned about the mileage? Thank you in advance for your advise and inputs.

What are you trading? Yes 219K on any car is a lot. Has it had any major work (trans rebuild, engine overhaul ect. ) What engine, is it 4x4? I don't think anyone can tell you what you should do.
Good Luck tho.
I have a 2000 D with about 145K and I and the Wife love it.

what you are trading from would be some good information, these trucks will last if taken care of however as with anything else the maintenance is critical especially with that kind of mileage on it
I am not looking for anyone to tell me what to do. I am looking for advice and info on the Durango's since I have never dealt with them. I do not know what engine it has but it is a 4X4. If I trade it will be a 2000 Pontiac Montana.
This is why I came to the Durango Forum. I figured that since you folks already own one and they all will have different miles and different years that you can tell me how reliable they are. Anything I should look for or expect if I decide to check out the vehicle.
I appreciate any and all advice and information.

Imagine that. A place where no one has anything to say or don't give a ****. Not my type of place. So if anyone got the power then just delete my ***. Been on here for 8 hours and all I got was 2 answers that were useless. I am outta here.
You should give it 24hrs not like a car lot is open on sunday
Test Drive it real well
Check the ball joints, search internet about that issue.
During test Drv. pay attention to the transmission, drive it like you dont own it
make sure there is no slipping, especially OD.
If it shifts good/drives good and engine sounds good i would say buy it.
But beware they are gas hogs, but you will fall in love with it.
FYI I just purchased my 99 slt w/ 5.9l 4x4, for $3,200 cash, it had 174,XXX miles, but drives good, runs good, min cosmetic flaws "one door ding".
Also my job has me all over the road everyday, and i cant recall seing a durango on the side of the road, and i see more of them then any other car, i swear 1/5 autos are dodge.

dude you expect alot of answers in one day you are insane, we do NOT sit around all day waiting for people to show up, we have lives and do this to help people out in our free time, if you want to leave then so be it, but you will NOT find a better resource on these trucks than this site (at least i havnt been able to find one). and you asked for advice on your decision, NOT just information on what to look at on the durango, advice would mean our opinion on if you should upgrade to the durango or stick with what you have, information is what you meant to ask for and what you are now getting.
now common problems include balljoints and transmissions, the balljoints will be bolted on if they have been changed, if they are still riveted onto this truck i would change them ASAP., the transission, if it is origional at this point in the trucks life it has clearly been taken care of, that said it is still likely about at the end of its life. These engines are known to go forever without giving any problems i have heard of the 5.x series engine going over 300k. everything sparkmarv said is good, and like i said above ask for maintenance records
