Default blower motor resistor troubles

just replaced the blower motor resistor in my 02 durango a few weeks ago due to the fan only working on high and tonight it started doing the same thing.

noticed when i replaced the resistor that the previous owner had already bought another wiring kit and spliced it in so is my problems in the blower motor itself that keeps knocking out the resistors?

Common problem.

Double check his wiring work. Likely the culprit with such a short interval between shorts.

I would suggest getting your own new end an replacing it and the resistor once again. For $50, why not.

went thru the wires when i noticed they had been replaced and they all looked ok.
who ever did them, knew what they were doing.

im guessing they were having the same problem since the resistor i took out was identical to the new one so it had been replaced at some time.
really only leaves the blower motor right?

I replaced my wiring harness and it still kept blowing the resistor. I replaced the fan motor and all is well now.

first chance i get im gonna replace the blower motor on this one aswell.

was hopeing it would be a quick cheap fix by just replacing the resistor but once i saw the new wiring harness and newer style resistor when i went to replace it, i was figuring the motor may be the culprit.
