they are definitely audible, loud is a matter of opinion, mine click around a little when you switch it, no clunks tho . . .(these are the directional doors, which send air to certain vents and not others) the blend doors are the ones which control how much air can flow past the heater core vs the a/c condensor in order to warm/cool the air for you

All you have is rear A/c and a blower motor.......That's it!

Rear heat wasn't installed by the factory until 2000. So, 1998-1999 has no heat only blower and A/C.

2000+ has rear heat and A/C.

I wasnt asking, I was only stating what I thought, before sharp answered.
Thx for patience and answering anyway.
Thats kinda retarded, i bet it gets cold back there.
Glad i dont sit back there

Does the Rear a/c effect MPG's much?
Does it have its own compresser and that?

nope rear a/c is run off the same compressor as front a/c and yes it affects mpgs when it is used, anything that puts an extra load on the engine will affect mpgs

+1 Sharps

And I think the front A/C has to be engaged for the rear overhead systems.

If you have the 2001-2003 then I think they have a separate system in the very rear on the passenger side (after the tire) and they might be able to engage the compressor, but I'm unsure on those?

awwwwwww,

That's what I was thinking, but needed that conformation.....Thanks!

That was the way mine was as well but I only had the mid row A/C and blower option only, no heat. My system (1998 Durango) actually had the A/C condenser in the middle roof in between the front and middle seats.

The 2001 ? -2003 (I think) had the redesigned system behind the passenger rear tire and rear hatch (behind the panel) and with that system from the factory plumbed coolant from the engine (for heat including a rear heater core) and also A/C lines including a condenser back there as well.

Anyway, just wanted to put that information out there for everyone.
