Durango Hood Swap
Hey guys, the hood on my black Durango is in really bad shape with all the clearcoat gone & looking worse with each passing day. I was quoted from $250+ to paint it. As luck would have it, I managed to score a like-new hood from CL for way less than that and planning to swap.
I have searched 5 pages of results & I've given up trying to find any info from someone who has done this. The "new" hood has no grill or latch, so those will have to be swapped over as well. So how hard is it? I know it's pretty heavy & will need a second pair of hands, but will I need any other parts? The grill seems to have some kind of gasket between it & the hood, but I can't be sure if it's something that will need replacement. This is my DD so there can only be a day of down time. Any advice?

it should not be anything special, just bolt the parts off of one and onto the other, the gasket thing that you are talking about is touching the cross member int he front right? if so im pretty sure you wont hurt anything running without it, but i would swap it over just for the sake of having it as close to original as possible.
They are kinda tricky to get the hinges and machine slots matched up correctly (adjustments) to shut, open, and body lines just right, but you will get it just be careful when closing it so you don't pinch anything.
