Question about tires
Hi all,
I'm looking for new rubber for my 02 Durango. I'd like to go a bit oversize on stock suspension. I'm thinking about these they are 285/75R16 over my 265/65R16. They work out to being 32.83inches tall. Will these clear lock to lock without trying to eat my fenders?? Anyone got recamendations for brand-size that work well?

stock size, cooper discoverer stt!!! i live in vermont, where we have 365 seasons a year. mud, snow, sleet, rain, dirt, rocks, nothing these tires cant and wont handle. i refuse to buy any other tire for my durango sxt!!! they are bad *** tires, they look mean and aggressive and perform just the same. they have a lot of tread, so there is road noise but not to bad. they handle good in all road conditions. theyll bring you anywhere you will ever want to go.
a little on the expensive side, but well worth the money. the best prices and deals i have ever found on tires is, treadepot.com . deal with this company 100's of times a year and have never ever had a problem with them.

31 inch diameter is the ABSOLUTE LARGEST TIRE that will fit without lifting the truck, any bigger and you are just asking to loose your fenders, i liked the cooper discoverer asts i had on mine previously, however i believe (my parents took the truck for tires last time so this is what they told me) that that tire is discontinued, and i havnt gotten to try my current tires in snow yet, so i cant speak for how they handle

I've got a set of Chaparrals that are 32x11.5 that don't rub. With that being said, all 32s are not 32s. It's kind of like jeans, you need to try them on. What one maker says is a certain size, another calls a different size. A knowledgeable tire salesman should be able to tell you off the top of his head which brands tend to lean up or down in their sizing.
