Durango 2000 High-Lock Dashboard Light Not Coming on when Shifting
Hi everyone, temps have dropped in the 20's here in NJ. Yesterday we had icing on some roads. I slipped the truck into 4-Hi Lock and noticed that my dashboard light didn't come on. Anyone know what could be causing this? I am not sure now if its the light or the truck just isn't going into 4-HI. I tried it today again and no light.
probably just a bad light, simply put it in 4wd and make a turn on dry pavement, if it drags you down and the front end hops then you are in 4wd, if it drives normally its not shifting into gear correctly.
I thought about doing that, I remember awhile back when I had it on hi-lock I was turning into my driveway and it made that nasty grinding sound. Everyone on the boards said truck isn't made to do tight turns with high lock on. Could that cause any damage?
Depends on the gearing you were in on the T-case.
Replace the bulb or replace the sensor on the T-case. If you have a Manual shifter then it is located on the drivers side of the T-case by the linkage just above, if on the electronic version then it is on the drivers side by the linkage.
