Fan clutch
Click the link... Direct replacement for 4.7 and built to OEM specs.
EDIT: I checked Rock Auto and nothing but severe and heavy duty replacements.

Yeah there is a difference between radiant cooling and direct cooling. Radiant cooling is the outside air cooling the engine while direct air is a constant flow to the engine. Pretty much the heat of the engine after enough time is going to outweigh the coolness outside no matter how cold it is if you're not going. Pretty much what the fan does is simulate as if the car were driving fast while your going slow or at idle.
Like Shrp said, if you're ever in traffic even in the witet you're going to have overheating problems. Then you'll be slapping yourself for taking that fan out :P

This is correct. A Heavy Duty one should be OEM (might have messed up with the wording of my post), and Severe Duty is the heaviest duty style that doesn't like to disengage very well. Everyone complains about the Severe Duty not engaging....lol
Anyway, do not remove your fan until you have a replacement as you can and will overheat. Most likely, yours is on the way out as it should disengage after say the 1/2 mile or so when its cold outside. It should NOT come back on unless the truck is getting up to about 200 degrees or more.
BTW<----- I'm just gettin annoyed with all the kids on here lately, and don't forget dumb asses. Not that I am a know it all or anything, I just can't stand ignorance especially when people come here and post questions up, then tell us we're wrong, and they don't even know. It's really freakin annoying!
