4.7 vs 4.7HO
I went to parts a little while ago to get a set of spark plugs. They kept trying to give me the platinum plugs. I had to specify the cheaper plain champion plugs. I sure hope that will fix the miss but if not Ive still got the old coil packs and injectors.
Those parts guys are told to push them POS plugs on people because the company signed a agreement with the distributor that they will push their plugs, in return they get nice kick backs. I hate having to deal with that BS and really it irritates the crap out of me each and every time they tell me that other plugs like Autolite's are the OEM plug.....They have no idea what their talking about!
So what motor did you install?

Well I swapped the plugs tonight and yep that solved it. It showed a misfire on #6 cylinder and I know why. Every plug was wore to about .080 gap. Let me put it this way, the electrodes were wore down into the ceramic. I have worked on a lot of engines in my years and I have never seen a plug wore quite as bad as these. Ans still running fairly decent. She runs like a dream now. I am definately going to have to change front tires real soon but by the end of the week it may need rears also
Yeah I figured that was the case. Just remember this in the future whenever its tune up time! Always always always Champion Copper tapped at .040, and that's really all out riga like. I'm glad that was all the problem was.
