Don't use the loops as they are only for safety chains for trailering. Get a regular hitch like a 2" drop and put a ball on it. I used to keep mine in the small compartment at the rear along with 2 tire chains, RECOVERY STRAP, poncho, foldable shovel, jack, jumper cables, pliers, small monkey wrench, first aid kit, and small tool set. If I needed to pull someone out I placed the hitch in the receiver and placed the recovery strap (lots thicker than a regular strap) loop around the ball. In the back I kept 2 matching large thin blanket.

In the jockey box I keep 2 lighters, a book of matches, and 1 extra flashlight. I also keep a 6-D cell mag light under the passenger seat (good for knockin heads) and a third flashlight in the driver’s door compartment. Then if that ain't enough there is a little fire power in the console as well......

hey joshi! I'm mlb239 from youtube, didn't know you belonged on dodgeforum! anywho, I blacked the eff out of my dad's ram tail lights haha! I didn't clear coat it and I absolutely regret that! they don't look shiny, they're dull and stupid looking and i went crazy happy with the night shades, i put about 10 coats on haha, stupid me I was 18 at the time, now I'm 19 lmao! same crap but hey, only do 2 coats of each, and make sure you're really gentle with everything you do, just like your rims, don't spray too much, just light, even coats and make sure you follow that video to the T, you see the way they came out? just follow that video and you're bound to like it! I'm doing the same with my durango soon but I'm keeping the back up light taped throughout the entire process! I love the look of it completely white! best of luck!

Hydra, you sound like I do when it comes to preparing.

In my far back storage I have my 3-ball hitch, jumper cables, can of WD-40, can of brake cleaner, a couple wind proof lighters, a can of lighter fluid, stock jack, pliers, 2 utility blades, and a portable air horn.

When it comes to pulling stuck people out of a ditch, I use a bubba rope. It's got a breaking strength of around 15,000# and has a loop to easily loop it around the hitch ball and pull someone out.

As for the storage where the 3rd row would go, I have a set of bolt cutters, 20ft chains, first aid kit, Dr. Socket set (all sockets, Allen wrenches, and screwdriver bits), larger hydraulic Duralast jack, a large wool blanket, large Mag light, and tire chains.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention I also have a fire extinguisher behind the driver seat.

I also have a backscratcher under the driver seat and a 4 D cell mag light beside the driver seat between it and the center console.

I also keep my Glock 19 in case with 2 un-loaded case in the glove box. Yes I have a carry permit.

You to are to much lol! But i'd rather have all that then not have it.

So as far as it goes than, the bumper of any regular stock durango can pull up to 7,000 lbs?

Hey bro hows it goin? its funny because i was just thinking, "how many of my durango/dodge buddies from youtube are on the forums here?" lol

yeah i hear ya man. I have seen smoked tail lights that have not been clear coated and they do look dull. If and when i do smoke my tails I'll make sure to be real careful.

Well hitch, yes haha. I doubt the bumper itself can pull too much, but not entirely sure.

well i thought the hitch was attached to mainly just the bumper? i don't even have a full hitch i just have the receiver. there's no ball mount or anything. as you can see from my Sig pic.

haha yeah, small world, and I'll do the same too with mine, I actually wanted the dodge ram logo covers, but those things are expensive, well, at least for covers haha, they're like 40 bucks, I might as well spray them!

Nope, receiver is mounted to the main frame by a handful of bolts. I put mine on after I bought it and it's a Reese brand and installing it consisted of taking the spare tire off, raising the receiver in place, and torquing down 7 bolts.

This is why even on pickup trucks, the bumper ball mount isn't recommended for anything about 4,000#.
