Transfer case is a cake walk. Its heavy and awkward but thats about it. Pretty straightforward. You will need a 10mm hex head for your drain and fill ports. A cheap siphon hand pump for a boat does the job well and screws on to your quart bottle.

The 10MM hex is for a NV242.. you may want to check your tag on the xfer case and see but Im pretty sure these all use the same size.

Also, it uses the same ATF+4 the transmission uses. ***** Always remove or loosen your fill plug first so you can make sure to be able to put fluid back in. Of course you said your completely changing your t-case.

Incorrect,

The transfer cases limited to that year (2001) is limited to NV133, the NV233 Normal part time case, NV244 which is the AWD case (R/T model.

Fill the case BEFORE you install the new one (1000% easier!) with ATF+4 fluid as indicated.

I shouldnt post when Im tired. lol sorry, what I meant was I was sure they all used the 10MM allen head, I know theres a million different t-case combos, but thank you for pointing that out, I can see the confusion that may have caused somebody. Again, I dont know if they all have the same size drain/fill plugs either, but thought I read it somewhere when trying to find the size I had.
