what is that clicking??

Default what is that clicking??

my durrango had a loose positive wire on the battery.I went to start it and just a click.right away i knew it was the battery.right after the loose connection i heard clicking where it seems like under the passanger dash.the min i connected the battery good the clicking stopped.this anything major?

if the clickw as happening when you turn the key to the start position it was just the starter solenoid attempting to engage, and not succeeding bc the battery didnt have enough juice in it

no let me explain. i want to start the d and then click.lights,gages,horn etc went dead. then clicking started.(even when the key was out)then i just jiggled the positive on the battery.lights came on clicking stopped.

oooo ok i thought you meant the clicking was when the key was held to start,

sounds to me like you have(had?) a weak connection to the positive battery cable, i you take it off and listen as you put it on you hear a bunch of clicking, if the connection was bad enough that it was in/out constantly i could very easily see this happening

This usually happens when there is a bad connection at the battery terminals.

Clean and triple check the connections and also look at the connection between the actual terminal and the main cables. Sometimes you need to replace the entire cable/terminal.

ok i definatly had a loose battery cable and i fixed it no problem. i just wanted to be sure the clicking wasnt anything major.thanks alot guys.

Yeah, I would say that clicking was just a result of your truck telling you something ain't right. If it doesn't come back I would just say pretend like it never happened. Were glad to help! Happy holidays.
