yeah? well its not a big deal i guess. you just have smaller tires. but if your durango did come with wht i think is most common the 31x10.50r15 or 265/70r16 than putting those smaller tires on will effect your speedometer. being smaller they will make you believe your going faster than you really are. not a big deal but still.

and yeah that's the first time I'd heard that! lol it was funny i thought.

its like this joke i love this one...

"having a badass car and not driving it is like having a playboy model as a wife and not ****'n her"

Yeah the difference in speed between 265/75R15 and 31/1050R15 is only .7 mph at 60 so only 1.07% so not much difference there.

My tires on my truck now are the 265 tires, anyone know if the 31 will work on my rims? Not sure what OE calls for but much more selection of the 31/1050 tires.

Well widow, my d had 265s on it before i got the new ones but i got 16" rims and thats just under 10.5 inches wide so i guess it really all depends on the meat of the tire.

I want wider treads but for obvious reasons i dont want tire rub, i was a little disappointed with my p235s (9.25"). But I suppose i wont worry about it until i need new boots.

I know this is way late but I got curious on the current numbers on the 4.7L. HERE I find its no longer offered in the Durango for 2011, but is in the Dakota and Ram 1500, it currently makes 310hp and 330lb-ft TQ with 14 city and 19 hwy. The even smaller 3.6L makes 290hp and 260lb-ft with 16 city and 22 hwy. Compare this to the 5.7 with 390hp and 407lb-ft and can achieve a 14 city and 20hwy.

Near as I can tell, its not worth saving the extra monies for the smaller engine. When the time comes, I will be getting a RAM. Though I can see my current Durango lasting quite a few more years.
