Transmission on 98 Durango
My son had someone replace the front seal on the transmission for him. After he got the vehicle back the next day we noticed when you shift the transmission its not in the proper gear. When the shift lever is all the way up in park the tranny is actually some place between reverse and neutral. I am guessing this is because the person that fixed the vehicle did not have the tranny linkage in the proper position before attaching the cable back after the tranny was reinstalled. Has anyone had to adjust this? If so could you explain how to do this and if you had a pic of this as well that would be great. Thanks for your reply and Mopar or No Car
there should be a cable adjuster(for the transmission indicator) under the dash panel which is located directly under the steering column, on my 98 dakota it was white and had a **** on it to adjust the indicator position, not 100% sure if this is what you are looking for, but its definitely a place to start.
