2000 durango problem
I am looking at buying a dodge durango because I love the one my brother has but the one I am looking at is having a problem. When you turn the key it doesn't make a noise at all like no clicking sound or even trying to turn over the engine. It has a 4.7 liter but I wanted to know could it be the starter or the ignition or could it be something else someone please help me asap
try to use jumper cables to start it, if not i would look for bad connections btwn the battery, PDC (black power box) and starter relay and starter, both live and ground wires
also check the starter relay, swap it with one of the same size (i believe the horn is the same size)

more difficult to work on, maybe, but liking to drop valve seats, i have never heard of that happening however if the truck isnt turning over the first place to look is at the starter and the associated electronics, NOT at rebuilding the engine, thank you for playing . . .
Ok my brother has the 5.9 in his slt durango the 4.7 is in the durango sport that I am looking at buying, from what I was told just yesterday before it stopped starting they had replaced a sensor in the truck then after the sensor was replaced the truck just stopped working meaning no click or even any effort from the starter trying to turn the truck over. Before this happened he said that the engine and transmission ran strong so I am doubtful that it could even be a problem with the engine at all. Thank-you shrpshtr325 for the help I am going to go this weekend to look at and more than likely buy it. So if you have anymore advice it would be great thank-you.

I don't like the story the seller is telling you. I would be on guard and prepared to walk away. If shrps advice does not work you can try tapping the starter with a hammer just to rule it out. Whatever you do please do not make up your mind you are buying this truck before you get there and check it out. I would suggest checking it out and going to have lunch before you commit to buying it.
All you need is 1 cylinder at 0 and his asking price takes a hard hit. Out of the 3 crap motors the 4.7 is probably the best of the worst....
But that's like the smartest person at a retard convention.
