She could have broken the plug end on the coil wire. Replace the coil wire and check the power plug harness to the coil.

As for why, I have drawn my own conclusion to the reason:

What year, engine size, etc...? Is this a new problem? You'll need to give more info...

I was hoping some of our veteran members would jump in but... Yes, anytime you change spark plugs, you should change the wires, cap and rotor. Also, what plugs did you use? You should stick with OEM Champion copper core at 0.040.
Did this problem just start?

yes, start out w/ new plugs (copper core, champion plugs gapped to .040, check you manual, or underhood sticker for correct part #) wires(mopar, or MSD 8mm or better), cap, rotor (brass contacts only)

if that doesnt take care of it get a new coil

Getting fire? As in spark and fuel? If so then it should run, unless it wont stay running?

Also make sure the wires are on right. If the wires are on the distributor wrong, the firing order will be messed up causing the truck to not run or run extremely rough.

Also you should try posting in the Durango area, you will probably get more support there.
