Default Part ID need help.

What is line called that attaches to the water pump coming from the heater core? It's not the heater hose it's metal and is some how fitted into the water pump.

This part is leaking and I looked at water pumps and they don't seem to come with this part.

Can it be changed separate of the water pump because I don't want to tear into the thing unless it can be fixed?

Which engine do you have? I'm only familiar with the 5.9L.

It's a 5.2L. It's leaking right at the base of that bypass hose going into the pump. My fear is that the bypass is going to be corroded into the water pump, it looks like it's serviced separate but this looks a little iffy.

It's not a heater hose going into a metal line, and that metal line into the water pump (pressure side)?

I know the motor and hardware but I can't place what you are talking about. Can you post a picture for us??????

You're right. I totally misread his original post.

Well I replaced the part, the old one came off with no struggles and put the new one on and the leak is gone. It's the metal line from the bypass hose coming from the heater core into the water pump. The guy at the parts store had no idea what I was talking about until I described it to him.

Sounds like I was correct then;

That is the heater hose "pressure line" GOING to the heater core. The return (cold side) is the one going to the top of the intake manifold on that motor. These are NOT bypass hoses, they are heater hoses.

There is a Bypass hose, it's at the top of the water pump and it is a small length hose about 3-4 inches long and 5/8" wide, and it goes into the intake manifold under the T-stat. Just wanted to put that in here so you understand why the parts guy was looking at you funny.....LOL
