Occasional drop in oil pressure
Hi guys
I was driving along the other day and here the beep beep noise it makes when one of the warnings go off, so I looked at my gauges and the "check gauges" light went on, corresponding with a drop in oil pressure that immediately went back to normal.
I didn't think too much of it, then a few days later it happened again. One time it happened when I was idle at a light and the other time it happened when I was getting off at an exit.
Is this something that I should be concerned about? I am due for an oil change and not sure if they'll see something when I take it for the oil change.
Thank you

which engine do you have? have you been running the right weight of oil? it is possible your oil filter is clogging u p and that is all it is, however it could also be a long list of other things, knowing which engine you have will be very helpful to us in narrowing this down.
I have the 5.9L engine and just this last time I got the mobile one synthetic oil for the first time after I had heard that it's better for higher mileage vehicles. Outside of that I haven't done anything out of the ordinary.
Both situations that he described involve going from higher rpms to lower rpms. Right on the money looking at the filter and oil pump.
Do the oil and filter change first, since you're due anyway and it's the cheaper, easier option. If it keeps happening after that, your next step is to investigate the oil pump.

Replace your PCV valve and ensure the breather on the back of the air hat is connected.

I really appreciate everyone's responses--thank you.
I don't actually change the oil myself, I take it to a place called Tech Lube up the street from me. Does anyone think I should use the synthetic Mobile One oil again or should I go back to using the standard oil? Not sure if that's part of the problem or not.
That's going to be the first thing I do before the next time I drive it. Unfortunately I'm in a bind and my brother has needed to take my truck to get to work today because he was having an issue with his own vehicle. I told him about the problem and told him not to drive it any further than necessary, which is only a short drive anyways.
