Default How do you change a PCV Valve

I have a 99 D with the 5.2 and have been having oil pressure problems. I got my PCV valve in the mail yesterday and I can see the old valve on the throttle body. How do you get it out and get the new one in without breaking anything?

The PCV valve is not on the TB but is on the rear of the passenger side valve cover. Simply pull it out of the rubber groment, twist and pull to remove it from the hose going to the intake manifold and reinstall in reverse order. It's a simple 2 minute job.

Also if it's cold near you, I'd recommend a high temp heat gun to heat up the rubber grommet it's stuck in with. If that grommets frozen, it could likely break the PCV valve and possibly get fragments in the oil.

On the 1998-1999's it's on the passenger side. The 2000-2003 they moved it to the drivers side. Regardless, the PCV valve hose goes into the intake manifold and not the air hat. That should point you in the right direction. The hose that goes into the air hat is the crank case breather.
