Default ABS and Brake Light

My ABS and Brake light comes on intermittently, not all the time. My cruise control wont work b/c of the brake lights being on. Anyways my speedo works fine, my brake fluid is full and hasnt changed, and I cant spot any leaks anywhere. The brakes seem to be working just fine. Anyone have a suggestion on what to check next?

First off is your ABS system working properly? Shouldn't be too hard to see if it's working in the snow.

Next ensure the wiring to the ABS module is snug and nothing looks loose. The ABS module is located right next to the brake booster, it's got a bunch of wires coming from it.

Lastly inspect the speed sensors and ABS sensors on the wheels. This is likely the culprit of the problem and these days seems to be due to a faulty speed sensor.

90% of the time this light is set off by one of two sensors, the rear wheel speed sensor on top of the rear differential, or the output speed sensor on the transmission being bad, start with the output sensor on the trans since it is cheaper

Also, sense the cruise control wont work it could also be the brake switch located above the brake pedal.
