Take it to a small computer store and ask them to solder it for you and reinstall yours.

Yes, the mileage stays in your cluster so if you put a different one in you mileage will be all screwed.

Will my odometer be saved by the ecu or will the new cluster have whatever miles were on the donor vehicle.

IIRC, there was a discussion about this very same subject. The mileage is stored in the cluster. I think you have to let the DMV know that you replaced the cluster so they can put a sidenote on your inspection. I think the dealer is the only one who can really reprogram a cluster? If I'm wrong, then I'm wrong.

My cousin today told me if I change my cluster out and the milage on the new one is differant, it will just be a line across were the odometer is.? He said it is a fail safe so that people cant so call roll the speedo back.? Any thoughts on this? Thanks

Ok, I replaced the cluster with another and all is good except now my truck has 15k less mileage. I guess it is stored in the cluster. This couldnt have waited one more year so that the odometter will be exampt. lol
Again Thanks for all of the help!!!!
