Smile New guy w/ Dodge Durango 5.9V

Hello Everyone. Im new to the forum and so I wanted to introduce myself. I have a 1999 Dodge Durango with 5.9L V8. I've had it since it was brand new and it's been a great truck for me. I would like to keep it running as long as possible. It has 130K miles on it.
I haven't had any problems with it at all, just replaced the power window motor on the passenger side.
Just recently, the ABS and brake light come on at the same time and when that happens the ABS will not work. It seems to happen sporadically and seems to be triggered by a bump alot of the times but not always. When the lights are not on, the ABS works just fine.
I live in Denver, CO. so if anyone can suggest a good mechanic for Dodges, that would be great! thanks!

Forgot to mention that I've reviewed other threads that have similar problem but in my case, the speedometer works just fine.

Welcome to DF!

First off check the connections to the ABS module as that will lead it to send a signal for an ABS light.

also check the speed sensor on the output shaft of the transmission its a $20 part so i would just replace it.

Do you have sensors on each the wheel front wheel bearings? If not you only have 2 main sensors. The transmission output, and the rear diff ABS sensor.

If you have front ones you can see the wires going to them and you might have a bad sensor up there.

Lastly, the ABS module could be going out as Widow stated. It would be very easy to at least check the harness on the ABS module, however I would not replace it unless you know for a fact that is your last bet.
