Default What color Nerf Bars?

Im getting to the point where I really want to add side bars to my Durango. My only issue is I dont know what to get out of black or chrome, though I really dig the black with the Inferno Red. Let me know what you think! Thanks a lot!

id go with the black, chrome (at least if its real) is a real PITA to keep clean, and black looks better on red anyway

Thats exactly the way I see it too. I want to get my two front windows tinted to match along with red nerf bars and a black bull bar.

I also choose black powder coated. Thinkin of doing the same thing with my D as well, just not a big fan of chrome in general.

Also, in regards to tinting the front windows to match, 20% matches up almost perfect. As long as its true 20% and not a shop claiming 20 but it's really more like 30. As you can see mine look great and I'm real pleased with them:

Good, ive already got 2 votes black on here and one personally, and of course my own. Amazon has a set for like $200 and they're lund so they are good quality.

I haven't done much research but that sounds like a pretty fair price. Ive also never installed them before so keep us updated on ease/hardness of install as well as how you like the quality. This would probably be my next purchase when it comes to cosmetics.

Awesome. thats 4 votes total for black, 2 are actual relatives. AutoAnything.com has a set of Westin's in black for $250 and thats with all mounting hardware and brackets. I still need to get the front windows tinted to match the rear, and I also want to get a black westin bullbar too. I'm also thinking about a Magnaflow Cat-Back exhaust. Not sure about intake as that stuff only gives like 7-15hp and costs more than it justifies.

Gotta roll the other way on this and go Chrome.

Reasoning:

Grill and rims are Chrome and thus it will match hands down. However, it will need more help to keep it there. You have enough black on there....IMHO.....I had a truck about that same color and I would do it again in chrome.

Odd, I thought I had made that post about votes already before but it didnt show so now I feel real stupid with a double post. Widow, I was already leaning towards 20% and my mom ordered her nerf bars for her 2009 Equinox and the things all hook right up to factory holes in the frame.

Hyrda, the only thing is though, I LOVE the color black. If I had it my way I'd paint the D a glossy black, rims black, black tinted headlights and tail lights, everything black. I love it. ( I am by no means gothic, I just love the look of a black truck.)

If your only choices are black and chrome, then black wins by a mile.

But if you can get them in brushed aluminum, you've got the best of both worlds. Matches the rest of your chrome well enough, and is about as easy to keep clean as the matte black.

And just IMHO (and also just for the sake of disagreeing with Hydra ) I think your red Durango would look a little tougher and meaner if you took that chrome grill and had it redone in black.
