And that's what we call the key dance! Yeah!

LOL! Yeah, White, thanks for fixing the word for me. But if you notice, I used the word "stealer" to describe the place where new/used vehicles are bought.

I actually started this all by reading one of the sticky threads. It said that the key dance doesn't work for 98? Also, I was all pumped for the codes- but everywhere I've gone has either said no or that they charge. Prolly a CA thing...

The key dance does not work for 1998-1999 years. It only works on 2000-2003.

Did you try Checkers or Auto Zone?

Yeah, it is a CA thing, they prohibit Part store reading CEL for customer. Too many shops complaint about losing money over it (and Tax). Just buy a Code read for like $50, it will pay itself off, because they work on everything make and model as far as CEL goes.

Part store ppl read the code, print out a list of "possible fault component" and try to sell you everything on the list, give u a DIY manual on parts they sells, and hoping you will (or will not) fix the car. At least that's how Autozone works here.
