Default transmission Fluid Level

Hi, i recently changes my transmission pan due to a hole rusted through it. Cot it all bolted up but i put to much fluid in the trans. Now the axcess is leaking through the front of the trans down trought the inspection cover. what do i do. do i even bother fixing this. I hate auto trans's if i had it my way i would throw a stick in the danm thing. It is a 1998 Durango 5.2 and pretty sure it is a 44re

Thanks Jordan
Good Day!

I'd get a syphon down the dipstick tube and pull it out because it can cause serious damage. Also I like Auto transmissions much better. The fluid doesn't need to be changed as often per the manufacturer recommendation and it's also easier to come around ATF. I'd get that extra fluid out ASAP and not drive it around.

10 quarts should fill the pan.
