Question Coolant issue

I was wondering I just replaced my stuck open stat and got it warming up better but sometime it will get warm and be nice then all of a sudden get cold should radiator be filled to top when i remove cap or should it only be about 80 percent full Im wonder i just topped it off a little bit But i don't wanna add too much either please if some one has insight on this let me know. Thank you.

where are you checking the fluid level, the resevoir cap on the side should have enough fluid in to fill in all the holes on the dipstick that goes into it, any more and there is not room for expansion w/o it overflowing.

yes it is full in there but im mentioning the actual radiator is not full when i take cap off.. should it be completely filled Or just filling the reservoir will do it.

the radiator should be filled, and if that is empty that leads me to believe that you have a clogged line between the overflow resevoir and the rest of the system, there should be 0 air in the system

Ensure that the radiator is completely full all the time and that the overflow is at the full mark as well. Also ensure that the tube going from the cap to the overflow is good and not sucking any type of air or that it is plugged as Sharps is stating.

Thanks Guys I will Fill it the rest of the way up The guy that did my engine totally rushed it didnt fill all fluids just got engine started n left IT tHANKS THO IM SLOWLY GETTING IT ALL TOGETHER.
