Default Durango stalling.

I have a 1998 dodge Durango. Sometimes (dose not happen all the time) I will start it up and is running fine. put it in drive and go on my way. but as soon as i let off the gas if i am not going fast the damn thing will stall. i herd from numerous people i have a bad censor. But i am not about to buy the hundreds of censor's these cars have so dose anyone know what my problem is here. Or what censor is bad.

Thanks Jordan

Have the battery checked out under load. Could be a battery going bad.

I'd also clean out the IAC port on the back of the throttle body. Watch your voltometer to see if it drops any right before it stalls to see if it's Dan's suspicions.

All you need is a can of TB/Intake Cleaner to clean the IAC port though, normally it can get gunked up over time and cause it to stall. The IAC is "Idle Air Control" valve and controls how much air comes in at idle.

+1 guys

Clean the TB clean out and clean or replace the IAC, and look at that battery.

Ss and Cs oh my.

Anyways... +1 Dan. I would check the battery first, the obvious and then again under load if it happens to look good.

Always a good idea to run a good cleaner through the system too, once a month of so, just as White describes.

Good luck and let us know.
