I have a 99 w\5.2 and was wondering how bad a bad plenum gasket will hurt the gas mileage of my truck. Has anyone ever made there own plate to replace it? Thanks

 

cant give ya number, but just think about the effect on the plugs/cat... The time spent on making a plate would be counter productive, spend the cash and cure your ills..

Like Duranged said, just replace it with the Hughes kit, or weld it yourself.

Also, it completely messes with your intake system with oil and crap getting in the intake so it does nothing but bad to the engine itself. Replace is ASAP if you love your engine!
