Yeah, this is all good info. I think i have enough to say i know what i will be doing, replacing and how messy it'll be.

Thanks guys. I'll stop in and talk to the dealer about some replacement parts, filters and the sealant.

Ya, I got a link for that! https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...nsmission.html

As for the gasket, in my opinion I always use a rubber gasket and no RTV sealant. Just take the rubber gasket and place some regular wheel grease between your fingers and lightly coat all surfaces of the rubber gasket. Clean the mating surfaces on both the pan and the trans with alcohol or brake cleaner on a rag then put the lightly lubed gasket on the pan and lift it back in.

Remember to alternate your tightening sequence and torque per the manual specifications.

Here is some info I did on a different board: http://www.dakota-durango.com/forum/...=114505&page=4

Hydra, do they make gaskets to the size specifications or do you buy gasket material and create your own?

And yeah I'll remember that for the bolts. All good info here now.

Too drunk to remember.......LMFAO

Anyways, you can buy the gaskets already made from your local auto parts store. Just go in there and give them the year, make, and model of your rig and ask for rubber gaskets if your going to follow my regimen.

Well at this point i haven't bought or set out a time to do it yet. so i'm still open to all available options right now.

If anyone's got a good idea or any good experiences i'd love to hear em.

I like coming to the dodge forums. I mean i haven't ever done half the stuff I've learned here but its nice hearing and being able to have your question answered by other dodge/durango guys. who know and are learning their truck.

you guys make it all worth while lol forums are great. my buddy who bought the 95 grand Cherokee, I'm making him join a forum too. lol

Tell him about DodgeForum! There's a Jeep section, not nearly as active as the Durango or Ram forum but it's there!

Indeed, I mean the JGC may as well be the cousin of the Durango!
