I was under the impression that for 01-03 they switched to a cv joint where the double cardan joint was on the 98-00 models. Guess they never did, just kept it all the same then.

Here we go again!


In 2000 they switched to a Double Cardan joint front DRIVE SHAFT! What we are talking about is the actual front drive shaft that comes out of the TRANSFER CASE and connects to the front differential. The differential is what takes the torque and displaces it to the front wheels, yes the pumpkin in the front!



A CV half shaft is what goes to each of the front wheels after it leaves the front differential! The CV shafts have the boots!



Now this one is probably the wrong number, but you get the hint.

Wow, Hydrashocker, even with my convoluted attempt to explain the part I am looking at, you always get it right.
