Question Durango Questions

Hello,

My girlfriend has a 02 Durango SLT maybe the Plus not sure. It has some problems that I am looking to fix for her and need some help.

1. Sunroof doesnt work - I think its the motor, I cant find a sunroof motor online for sale. Any ideas where i can look other than a junk yard?

2. Play in the steering - I looked around on this site and found out its a common issue. The play on hers is where two forks meet (Unverisal Joint). Can the bushings or something be replaced?

3. Rear Heat stopped working - Blows cold only and the front when turn to max turns off completely

Any help will be great! Thanks!

1. I'd go to the dealership parts counter and ask them how much it would cost and for the part number. Take that part number home and check around online with that Mopar # and you should find some leads online. As for the junkyard, that would be your best bet and probably cheapest route to take. I'd just visit them if I were you.

2. You can get a rebuilt U-Joint from many places online, just check around. Hydra just had a topic posted about this also, and you can get rebuilt ones. I, myself recommend Borgeson and try looking at Summit Racing for the ones you need.

3. For the rear heat, check the rear heater core lines for flow as more than likely it's a blockage and just needs a simple flush. The heater lines run under the vehicle and enter in the rear corner IIRC. As for the problem with it turning off when you turn it to MAX-A/C, I think it's a control **** issue. I'd wait for others to chime in with their .02 on that one.

I have done tons for research on the sunroof problem. I have looked in the parts manual for the sunroof motor part # and cant find it. Is the sunroof something that is aftermarket or factory?

Like I said I'd contact a dealership regarding the sunroof. I know when I ordered my D, the sunroof was not an option (or I'd gotten it) but IDK about the 2002. It might have been but I can find no evidence it was...

Mr. Widow, would you happen to be planning a trip to or close to PA in the near future?
