Default 2000 Durango cant take foot off gas!!!

So I'm headed home, stop at a red light and my Durango shuts off. I tried to start it back up but it wouldn't start. It crank up like it want to start but wont. I sat there at the stop light with it in the run position for about 10 minutes and it started and cut back off. I started it again with my foot on the gas and it kept running. I had to drive my Durango with two feet so it wouldn't shut off anymore... I just had my PCM replaced so that cant be the issue, I need help!!

Please include which engine you have in future posts so we have a better idea of where to start. However on this one it's an issue with something thats on both engines that year.

IAC- Idle Air Control valve

This regulates how much air comes in thru the throttle body when your foot is off the accelerator. You can start by cleaning it but most likely needs replaced. Instructions for cleaning can be found here:

5.9 engine?

It's most likely either your battery is going bad or your IAC in the back of your throttle body is gunked up. If you haven't got a new battery lately I'd take it in to have it load tested, if it checks out then clean or replace your IAC solenoid and also clean out the port well too as it will be pretty dirty. That should fix your problem for sure.

Ah you beat me to it widow haha. If you could crank your D for quite a while and it never had any low battery issues then your IAC is probably the problem. Just careful to actually use a torx bit to remove the 2 screws and not a hex wrench like I've seen people do and strip the heads of the bolts, then it's time to break out the drill once that happens.

i agree IAC or battery, however in these trucks the battery can pass a load test and still be the cause of the problems
