SCT HemiFever tuner for my 287?
I was trying to figure out if this is better than SuperChips or not. From what I see It's cheaper. I've barely scratched the surface of modding with a DIY Intake Tube and don't really know much about these tuners. I don't know what kind of power gains I could expect to see with a canned tune, can somebody fill me in? Thanks in advance.
Honestly I've never heard of it before but a brief look on their webpage tells me it's not that established of a product. This can be good or bad. It can either mean they haven't gotten their name out there yet, or can mean they are not trying to get their name out there.
As for the SuperChips, this is what I recommend. By far the greatest mod purchase for my personal Durango. I noticed incredible improvement in throttle response, as well as huge torque gains. HUGE!!!
With the SuperChips tuner it looks like you can do about the same as the Hemifever one, but I know from personal experience the SuperChips works.
With SuperChips you can pick from 4 settings, More Power, Better Towing, Increased MPGs, or stock. With the more power one (Performance) you see a great increase in horsepower as well as it stays at peak HP RPM for a bit longer before shifting. With Better Towing (Towing) you see a great increase in torque as well as sustained fuel economy when towing.
This means when going up a hill you don't lose MPGs because it opens up hidden torque to save your fuel. With Fuel Economy (my personal favorite) you will see a nice increase in fuel savings. It has a built in rev limited that I believe is set to 2,800 RPM that keeps you from getting too close to the floor. I noticed an average of about 5 or 6 MPGs gained with this specific program.
What is nice, is you can set it back to stock and it unlocks the programmer, so if you sell the Durango you can also make your money back on your programmer.
Like I said the Hemifever may be cheaper but you may be getting what you pay for. Maybe someone else has heard good things from them, but from what I can tell SuperChips is a much more tested and established product.

Isn't that exactly what this is?
This is my local qualified SCT sales center. I can't look at their site right now because this expensive Panasonic Toughbook doesn't have the latest version of adobe. I basically just included that for a faster link for when I get home.

Yes, from what I understand there are the same "Tuner" just a custom "tune" by HemiFever. Is there a difference? Hell I don't know. The best way to go is to find an in city dealer of the SCT and get your truck dino'ed with a custom tune flashed into your Tuner for your rig.
