Default Engine stalls when i shift reverse to drive and sometimes at stopsigns

Ive got a 98 durango, 5.2L V8 Magnum, 4x4. Two days ago it started stalling on me. I pulled into a gas station and reversed out and when I shifted into drive I went to hit the gas and nothing happened. I stepped back on the brake and realized the power stearing and brakes had stopped working then noticed that the engine had shut off, I hadnt even noticed because the car didnt shutter or anything, just turned off. My music, A/C and headlights didnt shut off at all. I put it in park, started it again and it drove like normal. On the 6 hour drive home this happened about 5 more times.

Today I drove it again and it happened again in a parkinglot and then when I was leaving the parkinglot it happened again at a stopsign, except that time I hadnt shifted at all, Id just come to a stop. Any ideas?

Low idle stumble is usually a dead/dying battery failing under load.

+1 Indy, get the battery tested under load as it's a good chance it will need replacing. Get it checked soon as not only is it annoying, but you'll kill your alternator in the process.

Default Load tested and battery isnt the problem

So I got the battery tested and they said it looks fine. They said it might be the injectors because theres some carbon buildup on the exaust and I should put in an addative next time I fill up the tank. That or it might just need a tuneup. Yall think I should give the addative a shot and see if that fixes it or do yeh have other suggestions?

I'd put SeaFoam in the system rather than an additive as I've seen SeaFoam work and additives cause problems. Use half a bottle in the intake vacuum lines and dump the other half in the gas tank.

To put it in the intake just release the brake booster vacuum line carefully and use a straw in the SeaFoam bottle and suck it thru slowly. For more information doing it refer to the SeaFoam webpage.

unfortunatley the load tests are NOT conclusive, batteries can pass and still not be good enough to keep these trucks running
