Ok finally have a little money to start fixing up the durango main part im looking for right now is the gas shocks for the hatch both of them seem to have worn out and the vise grip trick is getting old.. does anyone have a part number on those?

for reference 99 durango slt 4x4 5.2l

 

The technical name for it is 'Rear Hatch Support'. Part # 55256444AB and there are 2 required on the back hatch. I'd recommend replacing both at the same time so you don't have the new one die pre-maturely.*

 

id go to rockauto, they have em for $20-30 a piece and i agree w/ replacing them in pairs
