The CV joint going into the T case
The only thing that goes into the Transfer Case is transmission output shaft and the main drive lines, on to the front and one to the back.

Now if you guys are talking about the "CV Half Shafts" then theses plug into each the front wheels from the front differential. These have a black boot that goes over the joint. If this boot is torn then you should just replace it. I already have the instructions on here just search for my name and Half Shafts in the 1st Generation Durango section.

The front driveshaft on 2003 Durango's have a CV joint on the end that connects to the transfer case. It was another one of those 2003 year only upgrades on the 1st gen Durango's. I replaced mine with a shaft that has ujoints on both ends. It's been about a year now and it's holding up fine but it's noisier than the CV shaft which is probably why Dodge made the design change.
