1998-1999 the 5.2L and 5.9L radiator cap was on the left side and on the radiator.

In 2000+ they reformatted the radiator and fan shroud to include the washer fluids and coolant reservoirs, they also included a electric fan. The radiator cap was moved to the right, on the upper radiator hose to be an inline instead.

The only way I know to tell the difference between the early same year 5.9L and 5.2L motors is actually looking at the engine tag. I don't know of any difference visually.

The Throttle Body's are casted from the same mold other than a different bore. The 5.2L was 2mm smaller from what I've read, but I have never confirmed that personally with a measuring device, but I have seen them and that is what it looks like.

so theoreticaly i could turn my 5.2 to a 5.9 by boring out the cylenders? and putting bigger pistons in?

Yeah just take the cam from a 5.9 and bored it out and use 5.9 pistons.

Other than those I believe they share the same block.

+1 Widow

They share the same block. The stroke is different as well.

Speaking of Ebay CAI's... Are there any brands that one should stay away from? I am looking into getting a CAI so I am curious
D- 02 4.7l 4x4.

I was thinking of this aswell - K&N 77 Series High-Flow Performance Air Intake

thanks.

K&N is more expensive but it is designed perfectly with the heat shield and everything so you just install and you're good to go. The K&N is what I have and the only reason I'd recommend anything else is because it's so expensive.

If you're willing to fork over the money for the K&N, you WON'T be disappointed!

Mines going to be a different model number than yours because I have a 5.9 block and yours is the 4.7 engine. I know mines the FIPK Cold Air Intake.
