Stereo is intermittent...

Default Stereo is intermittent...

i was hoping for some advice. i have an 02 Durango w/ factory stereo/CD + Infiinity speakers. the radio frequently does not work- all pre-sets work, functions work,clock, etc but, when on, there is no sound. can anyone advise? thank you

This is in the wrong section, it belongs in the 1st Generation Durango (pre-2004 Durangos). I will move it there, where you should get a lot more responses.

do you have the factory infinity system in it? if so it sounds to me like your amp is on its way out, or you have a bad ground going to the amp

Do CD's play without problem?

And I agree it could be the amp going out... Or just a bad ground.

I just installed a new stereo in my 2000 Durango and I had a simple problem with a bad ground.

I got it now. Then +3 try ground first....that sounds like the easiest starting point.

Either you have a bad ground or + 1 ss your amp is going out check all connections
