Quick Thanks! (RE: Sway Bar Bushings)
I just wanted to say thanks to everybody who contributes to this forum... I know I've been gone a long time (4-years) but it's people like you who make my life easy!
I perused hydrashocker's "DIY FAQ" thread and found answers to many questions I didn't even know I had!
I'm not sure if reading all these maintenance threads is a good idea - if only for my mental health. I'm the type of guy who likes to fix things until they're really good and broken! If you know what I mean...
Seriously though, I noticed over the past couple of days, that going over speedbumps or hitting potholes... I had a nasty creaking sound in my front suspesion.
After reading the multiple threads about it on this forum - I decided to tackle the job. My goodness it was fun! And simple too...
A couple of 13mm bolts on the end linkages, and a couple 15mm bolts on the bottom of the front clamps. I will admit, I tried to take the clamps off and remove the sway bar completely - but that wasn't happening. I did have access to an impact gun...
But I decided to it the easy way. Once you have the end links taken off... I just wiggled the sway bar as far left as I could, and greased the area usually hidden by the bushing, then the same thing in the opposite direction. TADA - the inside of the bushing is now greased.
The end link bushings were super easy, and I probably could have just greased the inner contact surface, but I did the outer surface as well... I figured it couldn't hurt. And I used john-deere tractor grease - safe for plastic/rubber.
I bet even my wife could have done the job it was so simple!

I didn't contribute myself to that one you read but it's always good to hear people that appreciate our help. Most people don't understand that were not paid to sit behind the computer to help you guys out, in fact in most peoples eyes they would see it as a waste of time. I'm glad to hear you got everything working back just fine how it should be.
Hope we can help you in the future with whatever problems you may have. Good to know there's some genuinely great people out there still. There's been so many a holes come on here that complain how we mistreated them. It only takes a little respect to get a little respect.
