was backing out of driveway put truck in drive now i have no gears at all

I have a couple general questions that will help us out to help you further. First off, do you have a MIL aka Check Engine Light?

When was the last time the flui was changed?

What type of fluid was put in when the fluid was replaced?

Have you checked the fluid by running thru the gears and checking it in Neutral? What did the fluid look like (was it low or dark or looking burnt)?

When you say you have no gears, does the gear selector click into place or just slide up and down? Also, does your parking gear work and what gear is your vehicle stuck in?

 

You put the truck in park WHILE moving backwards.......?????

no, he put it into drive, usually the clutch packs will slip enough that as long as you are on the brakes (almost stopped) it wont do any damage to anything, but it sounds to me like he was moving faster than that
