Default 2000 Durango electrical towing Problem

Hey guys! I just got this 2000 durango for 3500 bux with a factory tow package! I was going to drag my boat to the lake when I noticed that the running lights or parking lights aint working! The signals and brake lights work! But thats it. Is there a separate fuse box located somewhere for the tow package? I know that fords have a little fuse box separate from the main fuse panel under the hood. The lights are new and work right on my other vehicles. But not the Durango. Any clues would be appreciated! Thanx Montana!

on your truck there is a second bank of fuses behind the one in the door jam, check those and see if any are blown (it is up behind the dash, almos thave to be laying on the floor to see it.

I thought the drive lights are in the main dash panel, not behind in the hidden compartment. Either way, there is some fuses in the main PDC for the towing but I doubt thats the case. Most likely it's just a fuse, headlight switch, or a short in the trailer connector at the back of the truck. If it is the connector you have to get them at the dealer as they are special. There is a harness on the back of the plug so it unhooks easily.

It aint the drive lights that I am having a problem with on the truck itself. Everything works fine on the truck. There just aint no power coming from the 7 pin plug itself for the parking lights. Turn signals and brake lights all work on the trailers I use when plugged to the truck.

Thank you for the clarification!

There is some tow relays and fuses in the main fuse panel under the hood on the drivers side mid fender.

Next, go to the rear of the truck and remove the 7 pin round tow connector. There is a harness that plugs into it with a red safety slide clip. Slide the clip out and remove the connector. Test for power at the harness ends. If you have power then it's the connector, and it is a dealer only item.
