Default 99 Durango ABS and Brake lights and oil pressure problems

I have a 99 Durango 5.2 V8 and the ABS and brake lights keep coming on. We changed the rear diff. sensor and they went from being on 100% of the time to being on about 75% of the time. The speedometer works fine but the cruise does not. And the brakes keep locking up. Also when the brakes lock up my oil gauge plummets for a second and then comes back up to normal. I have checked the oil and it is completly full. Really don't want to have to take it to the shop because we can't afford it but this is our family vehicle so I really need to get this fixed. Please if anyone out there knows how to fix this please help! Thanks for reading!

for the abs problem i would start by changing the speed sensor on the transmission output shaft, its the only sensor under there, its on the drivers side of t he truck and just threads out will NOT spill much fluid (a rag under it is way more than enough), not sure about the oil pressure however fix the ABS and see if it goes away, the two sensors could share some wiring (ground maybe) and one being off could affect the other, if its still there i would start by replacing the pressure sending unit.

It scares me that your brakes are locking up!

Can you explain how this happens?

It doesn't happen all the time just every so often when I go to press on the brakes I barely start to push the pedal down and they will lock up and it will slide or a second then stop. Defantly gotta wear the seatbelts otherwise you will smack the dash when they lock up. It started about a week after the ABS and brake lights came on and only happened once in a while and now its starting to happen more often and ironically it mostly happens during the time that the warning lights are off.

Unfortunately, for safety reasons I think you are going to have to take it in and have the ABS codes read. A dealer can do this because it's ABS related.

I was really afraid it would have to come down to taking it to a dealership. I live in a very rural part of Kansas and am about 1 1/2 from the closest dealership. Thank you for your help.
