Unhappy Humming/buzz noise from center/rear under carriage

Hello,
Yesterday I noticed that I am hearing a low constant noise when I start my Durango. Its a 2000 4.7 4WD. This noise can be discribed as a low humm, or dull buzz. I can hear it better when i'm under the vehicle and seems to be coming from center or rear as opposed to the front engine area. I don't have to be driving for it to happen, it happens soon as I start the Durango. Has anyone ever experienced this before?

Thank you for you help!

Unfortunately it sounds to me like the fuel pump. Try and locate exactly whet it's coming from while being under the vehicle and if it sounds like it's on top of the fuel tank, you've found your cause. I'd like to hear what others think and hopefully it's not the fuel pump because it's kind of a pain to replace.

LOL Pain's not the word for it. Wish it came apart as fast as it went back together.

But it does sound like a fuel pump to me too.

Interesting because I just replaced the fuel pump about two years ago. I bought the part at autozone and had a repair shop do the work. I believe it cost me close to $400. Of course the shop guarantees the labor but not the part.

So it appears that this part may be dying soon?

Thanks for such a fast response.

I had the same pump and it lasted for 70k miles and I sold it so who knows if it's still going, I think it's the pump not the maker.
