Default New O2 sensors?

Hey! Got another question for you great folks! My 2002 SXT with the 4.7 has just over 98000 miles now, well it still has the original O2 sensors! I'm not getting any codes or anything, and the truck runs fine...just figured I would ask...when generally is it suggested to change out these sensors on these trucks? Any replies would be appreciated!

Not until they throw a CEL code is my opinion. When you do change them stick with a dealer replacement part, aftermarket can cause problems here.

Like Bob said, typically if they're working fine you wont need to replace them. It can give your Durango a nice refreshment of a clean O2 sensor if you burn the crap off the old one with a torch.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

My old Durango had 176k on the original O2 sensors.

Yeah, you need to be sweating the cam and crank sensors if they haven't been changed. Mine left me on the side of the road @ 91k.

none of the sensors have a lifetime in mileage or years, there is no way to predict when they will go bad so no you do NOT need to be sweating the cam and crank sensors
