Default Cold Air Intakes

Guys, well been looking at getting a CAI intake for my D....I am in NC..was wondering if any other forum members in NC ever have any problems with smog or state inspections with a CAI installed. I was looking at a nice Volant system for my 4.7.....but could really not find on the site if it was street legal...check it out:

Please let me know what U guys think! Just don't want to spend the money only to have to rip it off when it's time to get my NC inspection! Many thanks!

never heard of a CAI causing you to fail emissions, i know they are legal in NJ which has some of the stricter emissions testing outside of CA

Any CAI that has the CARB sticker will be fine. That eliminates homemade units. Without the CARB sticker, some places will indeed flag the vehicle and fail the test.

cold air intakes are street legal, if it wasn't street legal it would say so on the website...

NC here as well. I have a K&N that's pretty much the same thing as your link. Never had an inspection problem.

And thus, this is the whole reason that I like the home brew Ram Air CIA.
