the po601 is 95% of the time means you need to replace the PCM, you can buy them pre-flashed so you just plug it in and keep going.

Indeed, typically it is a computer fault and requires replacing the PCM.

DO NOT EVER BUY A RE-MANUFACTURED PCM!! They are more hassle than they are worth the money you saved and 70% of the time you need to replace it in less than a year again.

Here's where I bought mine, they come pre-flashed to your VIN and I got one from them and I am very happy. Enjoy!

If it helps any, I bought a reman from American Computer Exchange in Fla. for $200, if you tell them a friend (like me) referred you and said that they have sales for $160 (they do) then they might sell it to you for that price. They did just that for another friend of mine here in town.

The guys from A.C.E are VERY knowledgeable and helpful. The 601 means that the PCM doesn't agree with the D, but it generally means that this is because the PCM is shot.

Well I've known many members using remanufactured PCM's, however some have had issues with them from time to time. If you can I would say your better off getting a new one, but some of the remanufactured dealers offer a lifetime warranty.

I guess it all comes down to a few bucks and what a person is willing to want to do.
