yeah i know you dont want the bleeder off, so what you're sayin though shrp is that i dont need to remove the radiator cap? just loosen the bleeder valve and turn on the engine and let it air out?

At work right now so I can't look it up, but what type of coolant does it say in the 2002 Service Manual?

The reason the heater didn't work was because you were very low on coolant so it would not pump into the heater core.

you might be right about that hydra. it was spewing out of the reservoir cap and overflow a lot.

but even before i added/flushed the system everything started working fine again. its weird but I'm hoping it was air in the system and that its solved now! I cant afford to pay for repairs!

Personally I think you are not burping the system correctly or you have underlying issues. Have you replaced the radiator cap?

No i haven't. but everything is going just fine right now. i don't wanna mess with it anymore. if something happens again. I'll post up a new thread and than move on from there. but when you've only got about 75 dollars to play with messing with things is kinda scary. in a financial way

I'll look into buying a new one than. so if the car is cold and i take the cap off the upper radiator line it wont let air into the system?

thats my biggest and only concern.

And hydra i don't have my service manual anymore. it disappeared from the little leather folder that it comes in. which sucks i looked everywhere for it and nothing. so i cant look up what type of coolant it needs. good thing theres the internet huh?

you are referring to the owners manual, trucks did not come w/ a service manual, but you can get one from the FAQ thread in this section
