Default 2001 sport 4x4 troubleshooting

I've inherited a durango sport with some issues. THe 4 wheel drive does not work, there is no power to the radio or the overhead counsel. At some point someone added trailer brakes to it. No error codes appear on the gauges. My son will be driving it, and I'd at least like to get the radio going for him. I've thought about running a wire from the fuse panel to the radio, but I don't know which wire on the radio is the power wire. I've checked all the fuses in both locactions, and all are fine. any help is appreciated.

There is a hidden fuse panel behind the fuse panel in the dash. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...or-lights.html Look at post #22 Not sure if you have it, but you should look. You are better to fix it the correct way before running wires.

Now onto the 4X4, get under it and look on the drivers side mid transfer case and next to the linkage there is a wiring harness going into the T-case. Pull the harness off and check it for corrosion. If you still can't fix it you will need to check for power going in and coming out of the switch in the dash.

i agree with checking fuses, but the 2001 has the new interior design, and NO HIDDEN FUSE PANEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

other than that everything hydra said is correct.
