Default 2001 4.7 4X4 Need help solving engine vibration!

Thanks to some helpful members I was able to solve my fuel consumption problem last week on this forum by changing out my spark plugs. There is still a noticeable engine vibration that transfers the shake to the steering wheel, it is less noticeable when I'm driving, it becomes very noticeable when I'm stopped. Is there anything anyone of you could recommend that I check. When I have the hood up and the engine running I can see the engine shaking. The idle is not weak at all, this is a constant shake/vibration. Thanks in advance! -M

Was it shaking like that before you changed the plugs? If not, check the coils at each plug. You may have one with a poor connection.

Yes it was shaking prior to changing the plugs, after I changed the plugs the shaking was reduced about 50% but it still is there! -M

is your air filter clean? there are soo many things that could cause this that without some direction its going to be difficult to diagnose without seeing the truck

Shrps is right, there is a laundry list of things that could be wrong. I dont remember all of your problems or what you've tried, maybe you could give us some bullet points to recap (please do not drone on with sentences and unnecessary details though).

I hope you used the cheap Champion Copper spark plugs and gapped them to .040 before install?

Next, I would take the Throttle Body off and clean it out really good with Throttle Body cleaner and an old tooth brush. http://www.mediafire.com/?k0742k5tvj1dqxh Clean the IAC off with the cleaner as well but don't press in on it. Then reset the PCM. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...ine-light.html

Could be where you get your gas. Try a different type and shop as well as maybe some mid grade fuel.

Lastly, I would get some Seafoam cleaner in your fuel tank.

hey I just finished working on a Durango that had an engine vibration, completed unrelated to running issue I wonder if this is what you are experiencing? I noticed the engine fan vibrating harshly so I removed it, started the vehicle and the vibration is gone. not sure if you solved this yet but thought you should give that a try
