You're right; not necessary, but why not?! Before you hook the battery up, turn your key to the start position for 30 seconds. When you connect it, let it idle for about 10 seconds before you touch the gas pedal. This resets the PCM. It will clear your codes.

I have a gauge style pocket knife looking thing that has the actual "bending" tool, inner boot brush for the wire ends, and gauged wires. I also have feeler gauges.

You never want to smack them on the ground electrode arm, or push off the center electrode by forcing feeler gauges or wires through them. If you do this you can break the inner center electrode.

Here is one (not like mine), well and you can see the bending blocks on each side. You slide the grounding electrode at the curve into the block and adjust it to get the gap you need.

Hey, what do you know, I was able to do it. Also changed the blower motor resistor and the window lift motor. All for, drum roll.........$225.37 and it was all possible because of you guys. Thank you. A side note, the blower motor resistor was a pain to change. I know it was just 2 screws, but man. Anyways, a BIG THANKS TO ALL.

Awesome! Good job.
I changed my blower resistor last week; you're right, it is a bit of a pain.
