Default CAI kit......throttle body connection woes

Ok, ok...just finished installing my Airaid CAI kit...was more of a pain in the *** than I thought it was going to be....anyhow...the big thing is where the plastic intake tube mates to the throttle body...I have a 02 with the 4.7. Man trying to get the factory o-ring/clamp onto the intake tube was almost impossible, but the instructions said to use your factory connection. So I finally get the tube in place...and I am like wrenching down on this thing...and yet the tube just slides around on the TB like I have done nothing! Damn...finally get some more wrenching on it..I have crappy tools and my arm is about to fall off....but it seems tight...but afraid to pull on it much...started the truck up and checked for leaks. It seems ok...I just hope it is actually sealing against the TB like it is supposed too....anyone else have a problem like this when installing your CAI kit?

Yes I had the same problem, mine even fell off while driving. What you need a a clamp with a sleeve and two clamps. One for the TB and one for the intake.

Sounds like a plan....what size sleeve and clamps did you get? And could I find this stuff at Autozone?

I bought mine at Autozone for I think $5. It comes with the sleeve and the two clamps. It was 3 inches.

Awesome...thanks Justin...I might just have to do that. Man I love how the truck sounds now at WOT with that CAI kit...I mean it seems like the intake sound as well as the exhaust is louder...can't keep my foot out of it! There goes my gas mileage! Now if I could just solve this pinging problem I am having with the performance tune from my Superchips tuner...
